The Iranian Collective for Justice & Accountability (ICJA) was founded to promote human rights and accountability for all Iranians. In the wake of the Women, Life, Freedom movement, ICJA recognizes that Iran is at a pivotal moment in its history. The country is experiencing a shift in political discourse and cultural identity, with the potential for a new form of governance.

ICJA believes that any future government in Iran must be built on a foundation of truth and justice. This includes holding perpetrators accountable for past crimes and ensuring access to justice for all victims. ICJA supports the process of justice and accountability undertaken by truth commissions and other independent bodies and non political entities.

Iran must provide its citizens with access to justice and hold individuals and entities accountable for acts of violence, torture, and killings.

ICJA advocates for a structured approach to confronting state-sponsored crimes—one that is grounded in truth, justice, and accountability. A just and prosperous future for Iran depends on creating a safe and effective process for victims to seek redress for past, present, and future injustices.

Membership and Structure

ICJA is a volunteer-led, anonymous collective. It does not seek to become a political party or formal NGO but instead aims to empower those affected by injustice to take action and contribute to a broader movement.

In a time when personal agendas and individual figures dominate the conversation, ICJA remains committed to principles, ideas, and action. Due to the sensitive nature of its work, the identities of those involved remain confidential. ICJA believes that its mission and efforts should speak for themselves.

Our goal is to support human rights campaigns that promote accountability and human rights in Iran.

Our principles 

Freedom & Democracy: The ICJA supports freedom and democracy in Iran. This means supporting a fundamental change from the theocratic government of the Islamic Republic. The ICJA supports the Iranian people’s right to determine a future Iran through a democratic process, free from one party rule, and theocratic control.

Human Rights: We believe that the protection of human rights is fundamental for development of a peaceful, democratic and free society. Human rights should not be applied when it is politically expedient, nor should it be viewed as an abstract concept. Instead it should serve as the foundation for a society built on equity, tolerance and justice. Our views on human rights are derived from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights among other guiding documents.

Accountability: Iran is at a pivotal moment in its history, where the fight for justice, equality, and human rights has reached an unprecedented level. In order for the country to move forward it must first confront the past. In this era of transformation, accountability is not just a demand—it is a necessity for meaningful change.

Justice: True justice requires transparency, fairness, and meaningful reform, all of which are only possible when accountability is enforced at every level of governance and society. Justice and accountability are inseparable pillars of a fair and ethical society. Accountability ensures that those who commit injustices are held responsible, while justice provides the framework for repairing harm and restoring dignity to victims. Without accountability, justice becomes an empty promise—merely an ideal without real consequences for wrongdoing.

Non-Partisan: The ICJA is a non-partisan entity and is not affiliated with any political party, or organization.  ICJA does not promote or subscribe to any political ideology, but supports access to justice for all Iranians.
